koikoikoiCharlotte Hughes Martin is a UK based artist. Some time ago she started this art project with discarded bottles of milks being engraved, she started dropping these bottles at random doorsteps around the city and letting people find ’em, as a mistestious special gift from an unknown author. The idea came from her thoughts about how some kind of glasses we use are areally special to us, and we use them just in rare and special occasions, and some other kinds are used and thrown away as garbage, or (better) recycled. This project has been a way to transform these common pieces of glass into something special. Many newspaper around the world started talking about this project of a misterious artist, and a lot oh speculations have been made about these bottles and their author, since Charlotte decided to explain her vision and made outing on her site as the artist behind the project.
Charlotte Hughes Martin è un’artista britannica. Qualche tempo fa aveva cominciato questo progetto che vedeva protagoniste alcune bottiglie di latte incise, che poi lasciava in giro per la città abbandonandole nei pressi di porte di casa, lasciando poi che gli abitanti le trovassero come doni di uno sconosciuto autore. L’idea venne dalla considerazione su come per le persone alcuni “pezzi di vetro” siano speciali, e usati solo in rare occasioni, mentre altri siano solo spazzatura da usare una volta e gettare via o (meglio) riciclare. L’artista ha quindi voluto rendere speciali alcuni pezzi di vetro comuni, e farne dono a persone scelte a caso. Molti giornali hanno pubblicato la notizia di questo misterioso artista, con molte speculazioni sulla sua identità, su cosa rappresentasse il progetto e quant’altro, finchè Charlotte non ha deciso di venire allo scoperto spiegando con parole sue cosa c’era dietro.
