RubensRockin’ Jellybean is one of my favourite, for sure. He mixes some of my favourite topics like sexy pin-ups, horror, sci-fi, rock ‘n’ roll, americana, pop culture, and all with a background feeling of “Japanese”. Plus: he always appears in public wearing a mexican wrestler’s mask! I love this guy.
Rockin’ Jellybean è sicuramente uno dei miei preferiti in assoluto. Nei suoi lavori c’è un mix di alcune delle mie tematiche preferite: sexy pin-up, horror, sci-fi, rock ‘n’ roll, pop e tutto con un tocco “giapponese”. Inoltre: compare sempre in pubblico indossando una maschera da wrestler messicano! Adoro questo tizio.
Born in Kyoto, he still lives in Japan with a beatiful (as I heard) wife, that doesn’t seem to be jelous of the gorgeous girls always surrouding his man in his public shows.
He draw with pencils, using bold lines that give a cartoon feeling to his illustrations, then he gives colors using a computer and searching for a realistic touch on the textures, specially on his sexy looking girls’ skin.
Personal advice: if you happen to be in Tokyo, look for his official store somewhere in Shibuya. I found it randomly hanging around, too bad all the cooler prints were sold out 🙁
Nato a Kyoto, vive tutt’ora in Giappone con una bella (a quanto ho sentito) moglie, che non sempre essere gelosa delle belle ragazze con cui lui compare in pubblico durante gli show a cui prende parte.
Disegna a matita utilizzando linee spesse che danno un feeling molto cartoon alle sue illustrazioni, per poi passare a colorare digitalmente, cercando un tocco di realismo nelle textures, specialmente sulla pelle delle sue sexy pin-up.
Consiglio personale: se vi capita di trovarvi a Tokyo, cercate il negozio ufficiale di Rockin’ Jellybean a Shibuya. Io l’ho trovato girando a caso, peccato che tutte le stampe più belle fossero sold out 🙁
