Address Is Approximate is a brilliant Google Street View stop motion animation, made by the director Tom Jenkins (Theory Films). It takes us back to childhood, where everything is possible, or at least, everything is possible to imagine.

“Story: A lonely desk toy longs for escape from the dark confines of the office, so he takes a cross country road trip to the Pacific Coast in the only way he can – using a toy car and Google Maps Street View.”

“Tumblingerstraße” is a stop motion short film by an unknown animator with the user name “Yo Man” at Vimeo. A perfect miniature replica of the road Tumblingerstraße in Munich of Bavaria, famous for his graffiti, is the German equivalent of 5 Pointz in New York.

Loose Fit by Abbie Stephens

Amazing music video for Loose Fit by UK animator Abbie Stephens using subtractive technique where film stills were printed on standard printer paper and then carefully torn.

Firstly a full days live action shoot took place. After a preliminary edit was locked down the movie was exported as an image sequence at 12 frames per second. Each frame was scaled and printed onto paper. 2’520 frames to be precise. Using 500ml of ink and refilling the ink cartridges about 12 times each. The printouts were then cut and torn and then stop frame animated using a rostrum camera. the animation was finally re-edited and colour corrected.

Dot: the world’s smallest stop-motion animation

“Dot” is a film commissioned by Nokia, directed by Sumo Science and animated by Aardman.

It was shot with a Nokia N8 using Cellscope technology and wins Gold for Best Animation at the British Arrows Craft Awards and also scoops the Film Epica d’Or Award (Grand-Prix)
