Just like we were all taught in English class to map out and brainstorm, you essentially have to do the same thing in design. Prior on starting your web, logo, icon, poster, business card, print, or any other type or design you have to get a general idea of which direction you will be headed. I’ve said this plenty of times before, and I will say it again. You cannot build a house without blueprints. If you want potential future stress go right ahead and be my guest.

Honestly I didn’t find any info on James Murphy, so if you know about him please write us. By the way, I think these tattoo style illustrations are just amazing. James takes all the classic Sailor Jerry’s & co. imagery and manipulates it in an urban-pop style, a bit kawaii too.

“Covers” is a project by John Paul Thurlow. Fascinated by the perfection of glamour magazines covers he decided to redraw his favourite ones. This is the way these awesome original portraits were born.

John Paul explains his project this way: “This is an attempt to remake cover art for every great magazine I own (+ a few record covers soon). Covers is an hommage to the creative men and women who produce such disposable perfection.”
