Artist SIT has been part of the Amsterdam creative scene for many years. Doing action painting, graphic design, advertising and more until he got fed up. He went back to square one to find his true essence. With ‘Noir’ Sit returns to his bold black & whites, examining the troubled relation between the animal kingdom and mankind even closer.The result is a haunting series that is simultaneously sexy and morbid. The sensual textures of fur and feathers are juxtaposed with pale animal skulls and soft female curves to illustrate the malicious blackness gnawing away at the edges of our sense of beauty.

Charlie Immer’s Carnival

Charlie Immer is a 1983-born artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He hold a BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. His colorful paintings and illustrations depict a surreal universe of poppy creatures engaged in violent actions uncovering underneath the cute surface anatomical layers of a gory aesthetic.

In an interview with Sunrise Artists, Charlie explains:

“My concepts come from my fascination with anatomy and my love of candy and toys. I have so much fun creating the blood and bones of my characters. The contrast of the smooth bodies and the complex systems beneath spilling out is very appealing to me.”

Sailor Jerry – The legend of the classic tattoo

Norman Keith Collins was a prominent American tattoo artist who was also known as “Sailor Jerry”. As a child, he hopped freight trains across the country and learned tattooing from a man named Tatts Thomas, who is credited for showing him how to use tattoo machines. Practicing on drifters, he later sailed the Pacific Ocean before settling in Hawaii.
