The following showcase presents KoiKoiKoi readers with some examples of creative talent from Romania in the field of digital arts & design. It is not meant to be exhaustive, but rather to offer a glimpse at the incredible creative potential of this country. We have featured the artists in no particular order and hope that you will enjoy their works just as much as we do!
Matei Apostolescu (aka Beaucoupzero) is a Bucharest-based artist, who masters a great variety of styles and mediums: drawing, vector, photography, manipulation, sometimes even animation and clay modelling. His works are incredibly colorful and literally explode with intricate detail and shapes. Read an interview with the artist on Computerarts. His Behance portfolio is definetely worth a visit for some insane close-ups! We highly recommend downloading here 21 high-resolution free prints by the artist.
Claudia Cimpan is a young, self-taught designer from Arad. Her focus lies on apparel graphic design, print, and illustration but she has also worked in the fields of logo and typographic design.
Andrei Ograda (aka coOPERATIVA) is a designer based in Bucharest. When he is not recovering from injuries caused by his freeriding enthusiasm, he likes to work on typographic and poster designs. He takes his inspiration from bathroom and hospital tiles, books, ink splatters and graffiti.
Stefan Lucut is a digital designer and illustrator from Timisoara. His work is a mix of typography, photography, vibrant colors and vector elements. Stefan has graduated from the University of Arts in Timisoara, and majored in multimedia design. He is owner and designer of Atelier 105, founder of Baubauhaus (successful blog for creative inspiration) and a proud member of The KDU Network. You can read an interview with him at Fairspot. Make sure you check out his Behance portfolio for more of his works, he has some of the most wicked poster designs we’ve seen.
Cristian Ienciu is a digital artist from Timisoara. Although we have decided to share some of his more abstract works, you can visit his Behance portfolio and check out some of his excellent poster designs.
Sorin Bechira is an award-winning CG and multimedia designer from Timisoara, who likes to work with both traditional and digital techniques. He is creative director at slashTHREE artgoup, art director at X3 Studios and proud member of The KDU Network. Make sure you check out his Behance portfolio and read this interview with him on Psdtuts.
