At the end of November 2008, Matt Held, New York based painter, decides to paint the Facebook profile photo of his wife. Then he paints the profile photos of some friends, initially as an exercise on skin tones. At this point he understands than on the mediatic success of Facebook this could be a really good start point to promote his career so he starts to paint the portraits (always from the Facebook profile photos) of the most interesting people who would ask him the friendship/join his group on Facebook and sets a limit of 200 paintings. Nowadays there about 60 paintings on his site. The group on Facebook
