RubensFabio Vialewas born in Cuneo, Italy, in 1975. All of his works are entirely in marble. Yes, it’s correct: marble. The skull and the Monna Lisa you’re seeing here are not made of polystyrene foam, but in real, hard, heavy white marble. As well as the tires, the big balloon, the bags and the giant crate. Pop art subjects with the highest contrast between shape and material, till the maybe most challenging of all: a real boat made of marble, called “Ahgalla”, in which Fabio sailed various rivers in north of Italy.
Fabio Viale è nato a Cuneo nel 1975. Tutti i suoi lavori sono in marmo. Sì, avete letto bene: marmo. Il teschio e la Gioconda che state vedendo non sono in polistirolo, ma in vero, durissimo e pesante marmo bianco. Così come i copertoni, il palloncino gigante, le buste della spesa e la mega cassetta della frutta. Soggetti pop nel massimo del contrasto tra forma e materiale, fino ad arrivare alla sfida più grande: una vera barca interamente fatta di marmo, chiamata “Ahgalla”, nella quale Fabio ha navigato svariati fiumi del nord Italia, dal Po ai Navigli milanesi.
