koikoikoiMichihiro Matsuoka was born in 1969 in Japan. He defines his work as a “creation of objects” that expresses the passing of time. Working with industrial resin clay, acrylic and other suitable materials, Matsouka fuses machinery with animals creating fantastic sculptures. He finds inspiration in his childhood memories and deteriorated devices, that’s why his meticulous work, in order to express the progression of time, gains such a surrealistic manner.
Matsuoka’s current exhibition is at Artishox, Belgium, until November 27, 2011.
Michihiro Matsuoka è nato in Giappone nel 1969. Definisce il suo lavoro come “creazione di oggetti” che esprimono il passare del tempo. Lavorando con resine di tipo industriale, acrilico e altri materiali, Matsuoka fonde macchine e animali creando fantastiche sculture. Trova l’ispirazione dalla memoria delle sue fantasie infantili e dal deteriorarsi degli oggetti, per questo il suo meticoloso lavoro esprime perfettamente questo concetto del tempo che passa, da un punto di vista surreale.
Matsuoka è attualmente in mostra presso Artishox, Belgo, fino al 27 novembre 2011 (correte!).
