Lygia Pape Retrospective

Until October 3rd, Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid) presents a retrospective exhibition of Lygia Pape (1927-2004), “Espacio Imantado”. 250 works, paintings, reliefs, woodblock prints, performances, film, posters, poems and collages of one of the most important brazilian contemporary artists. Pape worked beside Lygia Clark, Helio Oiticica and Ferreira Gullar, in what they called neoconcretism, an intellectual movement inspired in language and subjectivity over the graphic space. Her most famous performance, “Divisor” (1968), a textile work that must be carried collectively, is reactivated in this exhibition.
