The artist Mark Evans creates portraits of famous faces, all hand-etched into leather hides. He creates artwork using knives as his ‘paintbrushes’. These leather works of art are incredible and impressivley detailed.
yeah his technique is pretty amazing, but his work would be much more interesting if it weren’t all photographic translations to leather. But i guess that is just the artist he wants to be; more props to him.

He works with leather and wears leather, and his work is absolutely amazing. Dude could you create anything even vaguely similar, with our without an image that you could work from? I know very well that I never could. Maybe if the artworks were only a smaller scale. But these are HUGE man. I’d love him to do a pic of me wearing my authentic leather bomber jacket. I’ve got a photograph he can “translate” from, but I guess I would never be able to pay the bill!

wow that is awesome
I just wonder why he (seems to) works only on leather stretched across a frame
would be insanely awesome to engrave a leather jacket or something

What a waste of leather. This is what’s killing the planet, the production of leather and the cows (or any other animal) that had to be raised to produce these… leaves so much carbon footprints.
Miss moomooangel.
Do you drive a car? Eat anything that is grown in a farm? Any clothes? Everything “hurts” the environment. Before you ridicule someone about their artwork take a damn good look at yourself. The computer your using is made in china where people work in harsh conditions and have some of the worse environmental policies to date. Go take your self righteous ass down the street. Plastics, Synthetics, non-animal based fertilizers are all made from byproducts of oil. STFU
Example: Toyota Prius = By the time they are done shipping the parts to make the car from all over the world, more damage has been done to the environment then the car will be able to offset in its entire lifetime.
Impeccable artwork, Bravo!

Awesome, great work!

its kind of silly wearing leather while working with leather.

So what you are saying is that after the animal is slaughtered for food we should waste the Hides? Now that is a true waste. If you want to reduce the carbon foot print start walking to work.
