These extraordinary sculptures were made by Korean artist Jin Young Yu, are about people who, instead of getting along with others, choose to keep a distance from them, and be invisible or be left alone unconcerned. Instead of trying to fit into the world, they climb into a space of their own and reject other people’s intrusions. Since her sculptures are “invisible people,” she wanted a total transparency. So she choose PVC, and it took many tries and errors to figure out how to infuse 3-dimensions to this material. The effect of her sculptures in size 1:1 is an high impact and the transparency gives it a ghostly vision.

I am sure Jin Young Yu will be surprised to learn you think she is male – she was educated at Seoul Women’s University.
