Sylvia Ji is born in 1982 in San Francisco by 2 artist parents. Since young she raises the interest for art, looking at her mother’s sketchbook and her father’s paintings. In her art, exploring the themes of beauty and provocation, masked women with something disturbing remind of the Santeria’s imaginary.
Some of her paintings are a symbolic reflection of herself, portraits of people she knows or simply faces without a name. She has obtained a first-class degree at Academy of Art University of San Francisco in 2005 and had her first (sucessfull) exhibition when she was still in her last year of school. Since then she’s a very busy artst.
