Zamak, from the foundry to mecha design

Olivier Bucheron (aka Zamak) makes 3D robots, vehicles, machines that reflect his vivid creativity and obsession for details. From the right paint for metal textures to reflection and shading, all of his characters are a careful study.

All this is came from his background. While studying at art school in Tours, he worked in a foundry and it was there, between sand, dirt, metals and heavy machines that Bucheron had the ideas for his machines and robots.

Bucheron makes his characters with cinema 4D, vRay and Photoshop. Today he’s working as an art director at Funktrip, a Paris based design studio.
